BackAlley Community Theatre is a 501(c) 3 non profit located in the Historic Village of Grand Cane, Louisiana. It began its theatre work in 2000 with plastic chairs and an open space to put them. Over the years, this small but dedicated community has built walls and enclosed ceilings to create a comfortable stage area for theater patrons to sit in soft sturdy chairs. A large prop room was built with an attached Green Room for actors in wait. The theaters velvet theater curtain was purchased in 2014 and in 2015 the out door veranda entrance was donated by a theater-loving patron. This group of thespians are found locally through community interest and groups and colleges; even an after school drama group now exist for ages 10 and up.
